３つの逆三角形。
見事な冠羽と長い尾羽から、鳳凰（のシルエット）と思われます。
尾に比べ頭部が大きく描かれており、下方から上方に迫りくるかのような動きを感じさせるのです。

その構図から明時代末期に景徳鎮で焼かれた古染付のうつわに影響を受けていることが分かります。
江戸時代後期、加賀藩の若杉窯で焼かれた皿で、裏面の高台内には「若」の鏡文字。
これは通称「左若（ひだりわか）」といって、若杉窯でもごく限られた製品に入れられた銘なのです。
