その器形を伏せた兜に見立てて「兜鉢（かぶとばち）」と呼ばれ珍重されてきたうつわです。
中国南方（現在の福建省）の漳州窯（しょうしゅうよう）で焼かれ、日本に舶載されてきました。

鳳凰と富貴花（牡丹）の図。
大輪の牡丹の向こうには、月の姿も。
ひび割れが生じ、鎹継ぎされています。

状態：鎹継ぎ。成形時の凹み。釉切れ。底面に磁貫。
