「富貴」と「長寿」
牡丹と菊は、繁栄を象徴する百花の世界の2大スーパースターです。

蓋上部に付いたつまみ（鈕）の脇には、赤と金彩で小さな桜の花も添えられています。
染付と色絵とが併用されて華やかなうつわで、その色遣いには繊細さも感じられ、気品に溢れています。美しいグラデーションを見せる花びらや、緑と黃が混ざり合う葉の表現にも、ぜひご注目下さい。
北陸に伝わった品で、古い木箱には「菓子器」とあります。
